Schell City, MO 64783
Dear Pastor Dan:
Thank you for your letter dated September 6, 1998. For the record, I believe you are a converted man, because of your public confession of faith, both oral and written, not because you are a minister or pastor.
I do not doubt that you are where you are because God put you there. You are my minister too. That is not an issue with me. For the record, it is not my desire to turn our private correspondence into a public hearing or debate. My desire to give input to you is obviously of no value. Perhaps I could have helped had I been wiser in my timing or wording. It is in Gods hands now.
I will not show [name withheld] or anyone our private letters, unless it is your desire to force that issue, and I do not believe that is the case.
I know now I have failed entirely in helping you at all; yea I have even created the impression that I am against you, which was not my intention. My challenge has produced only strife; for that I am sorry.
I will leave all the issues and your administration of justice to be judged in the court of heaven, by one far wiser than I. I have spoken my peace.
I know you want what is best for the Church of Israel, far more than probably anyone I know. No one in the Church of Israel here will be privy to any of our correspondence, not even [name withheld]. It is entirely your responsibility, not mine, how he is to be handled in the future at festivals in Schell City. My lips are sealed.
The ideas I submitted to you personally were obviously too charged and one sided to do any good. For that I am sorry. God bless you. I pray your Feast days coming up will be the best ever.
Sincerely,

Jerry Gentry
